Kumamoto Hotel Castle

The hotel was in a particularly good location, walk from a tram station. Moreover, the area was downtown...

Overall it was immaculately clean and luxurious on higher floors. Coffee/tea making equipment, multi-channel TV, and a writing desk were useful. Marvellous central location adjacent to shopping mall and Kumamoto Castle, and many great restaurants.

All the rooms are luxurious and the staff is helpful and attentive. The setting is absolutely perfect and marvellous, just off tram and bus stops as well as Close to the shopping area. Again, the hotel is 2 miles from a Japanese garden.

A double room was well-appointed and the food was fantastic. Favourable and excellent location in 5 mins walk from the city center.

I had a really nice stay! The hotel is super close to the castle, making it easy to explore the area. My room was spacious, clean, and had a great view of the castle, which I loved waking up to. The staff were friendly and really helpful - they even sorted out an issue with my itinerary quickly, which I appreciated!

On the downside, the hotel feels a bit dated in some areas, especially the bathroom. The reception service was good, but I expected a bit more warmth from the staff. it was a good experience!

The leisure facilities, like the relaxing TV room and the massage service, were perfect for unwinding after a busy day. Just be aware that parking our rental car cost an additional 1000 yen per day, something to plan for 😊

The location was perfect for exploring the castle and city. The Japanese breakfast was a highlight, with good little dishes beautifully presented. Our family enjoyed the spacious room and the wonderful views of the castle, which my small child adored.

My children wished for a pool or play area.

great location but dated rooms

The location next to the castle was fantastic! The staff quickly resolved an issue we had with our room. The cleaning staff did a thorough job despite the challenges of the older rooms.

Some of the rooms feel slightly outdated.

I spent two nights in a Standard Double Room City View, and the service was really good. The staff were pretty good, especially in assisting us with local recommendations. The room was clean and had a lovely view of the castle, beautifully illuminated at night. I wish there were more breakfast options available, as I found the two choices a bit limiting.
